Let your friends and family know about the daily devotionals.
Each morning you will receive a 5-minute video, like this:
After watching the video together, discuss the devotional content, which is broken into four parts:
"And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” (Luke 22:19)
Our faith is not like Victor’s crossword answers: we don’t have the exact words to explain the mystery of communion. The bread and juice stored in the sacristy are just groceries. When we gather for communion, like Jesus asked us to do, ordinary things like bread and juice become extraordinary. When we share this special meal, it reminds us that Jesus is with us, a part of who we are and what we do. Thankfully, we don’t need to understand how communion works for God to use it to change us.
What do you like best about taking communion at your church?
What do you want to remember about Jesus during and after communion?
What questions do you have about other mysteries of worship and faith?
Dear God, thank you for reminding us of Jesus when we take communion. Help us to remember and follow his example of love and kindness. Amen.
Each day will also include a downloadable family activity that correlates with the video and devotional:
